this half term our topic will focus on the enquiry question ...
'Is it ever okay to steal?'
We aim to answer this question with a cross-curricular approach to learning and will learn lots about Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest.

Stories - Story mapping favourtie books and describing characters.
Fact files - Information about habitats.
Debating - Is it ever okay to steal?
Place value, Counting in 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's., Addition and Subtraction, Money.
We will have more infomation about maths with parents soon.
Habitats - We will be investigating and creating different animals habitats.
Investigating and sorting.
Topic - Is it ever okay to steal?
Geography - Where is Sherwood forest.
Art - Understanding an artist and reating art work based on their work.

Friday 7th September - WOW day - dress up in your medieval costume.
Wednesday 12th September - Year 1/2 trip to Sherwood forest - dress up again!
Parent's evening - Date TBC
Wednesday 24th September - Banquet with children and parents
Last day - Thursday 25th October
PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday this half term.
Please ensure your child has their PE kits in school at all times.
Your child will be taking part in P.E inside (on a Monday) and outside (on a Wednesday) so they may wish to bring blue/black jogging bottoms and a jumper as well as their normal P.E kit. shorts and t-shirts.
Homework: Learning Logs
Please encourage children who cannot access Mathletics at home to go to Mathletics club on a Thursday lunch time in Maple Class.
To support our topic learning, we will continue to send home ‘Learning Log Tasks’. Please encourage your child to complete the activities so that they can receive their reward.
Please practise reading and spelling the high frequency words that are in your child's reading diaries.
Book bags must be brought every day for their daily reading slot whether that be independently or with a teacher. The whole school reading rewards continue as normal with rewards being given for 75 reads. The number of reads will be counted at the end of each term.
Year 2 children bring home a library book and reading book. Your child will access my book blog in school as a class and will have their own account made in the coming terms.
