This Half Term, our whole school value is.......Resilience
This half term our enquiry question is, 'Is it ever ok to steal?' and we will be focussing on, The Legend of Robin Hood
PE is taught on Monday afternoons by a Sports Coach. Please make sure PE Kits are left in school for the half term. We will send them home if they get wet or dirty. This half term, our outdoor PE sessions are focussing on Multi Skills.
WE ARE LEARNING...
English: We will be finding out about Robin Hood and Percy the Park Keeper. We will be writing our own stories and newspaper reports.
Maths: We will be learning all about the place value of two digit numbers as well as learning how to confidently count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s. We will be identifying patterns in number and solving problems. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will also be a focus.
Science: Plants and Animals. We will be finding out about different types of tree and their leaves. In addition to this, we will learn about how animals get their food and how they depend on one another.
Topic: We will be learning all about The Legend of Robin Hood and discussing if Robin Hood was a superhero. We will debate whether he was right or wrong to 'rob from the rich to give to the poor'. In Geography sessions, we will find out about map reading and creating our own maps.
Computing: We will be using the internet to support our historical research as well as programming using Purple Mash.
Book bags must be brought every day for their daily reading slot whether that be independently or with a teacher. The whole school reading rewards continue as normal with rewards being given for 75 reads. This year we are starting a new and exciting reading programme called, 'My Book Blog'.
Remember, just 10 minutes reading practise every night can really help your child's understanding, fluency and confidence. If you need any advice or support with regards to Accelerated Reader please ask myself or Miss Tyers.
