Welcome back Willow Class!

Term: Summer 1
Themed Learning: Is this a wonderful world?

Week 1: Geography
To name the main cities of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
To use aerial photographs and plan perspectives to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features.
To describe some of the features associated with an island (Ireland).
To describe the location of features and routes on a map.
To describe the key features of a place.
Week 2: R.E.
To learn that being part of a religion includes symbols and rituals.
To learn the story of Jesus being baptised is an important story, carries out the message of belonging.
To know why belonging matters.
Week 3: Geography
To name a few towns in the south and north of the UK.
To say what they like and do not like about their locality and another locality.
Week 4: Geography
To use simple compass directions (North, South, East and West) and locational and directional language [for example, near and far; left and right], to describe the location of features and routes on a map.
Week 5: Science
Identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including microhabitats.
Describe how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals.
Identify and name different sources of food for animals.
Explain how animals and plants depend on each other.
Identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited.
Describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals & plants.
Week 6: R.E.
To talk about that non-religious people also follow the Golden Rule.
To know ways we belong and which matters to most to us.
