We hope you all had a lovely summer break and enjoyed the sunshine! We are working hard and challenging ourselves in our journey through Year 3.

Term Autumn 1

Theme – Can you run a restaurant?

Week 1: Art
I the artist can experiment with several different version of my art work.

Week 2: DT
To investigate and analyse a range of existing products – breads
To investigate and analyse a range of existing products – spread
To understand the product’s ingredients and their purposes

Week 3: Science
I will know that humans get nutrition from what they eat.
I will know the role of the skeleton.
I will know the role of the muscles.

Week 4: DT

To know how to be hygienic and safe.
To understand the principles of a healthy and varied diet.
To design a product that meets a design brief.
To design a step-by-step plan to create a product.

Week 5: Music

To be able to listen to the shape of the melody, representing pitches using the body ladder.

To be able to sing ‘I’ve been to Harlem’ showing the shape of the tune with voices and add an accompaniment using notes from the pentatonic scale.

To practise singing keeping a steady beat.

To be able to invent a 3-note melodies to accompany ‘I’ve been to Harlem.’

To learn cup rhythms to ‘I’ve been to Harlem.’
