We expect your child to read to an adult for at least 10 minutes each day and for all reads to be recorded into reading diaries.
Your child will choose a book from our range of Read, Write Inc. books, based on their current reading level. After every 3 full reads of the same story, children will change their book. Books are expected to be read more than once to build up accuracy, fluency and comprehension.
If your child reads 25 times at home, they will receive a token to buy a book from the vending machine.

Your child will choose a book from the school library based on their ZPD range that has been based on their Star Reader score. Once your child has read their book, they are expected to quiz on Accelerated Reader. If they pass their quiz, they are able to change their book. Children’s ZPD range can be located in the front of their reading diary.
If your child passes 5 quizzes, they will receive a raffle ticket. Once children have received 3 raffle tickets, they will receive a token to purchase a book from the vending machine.
The class teacher will set a SUMDOG task on a Monday morning and this is due to be completed by Friday each week.
20 questions will be set and they focus on what they are currently learning in Maths.
Each week, homework stickers are put in the children’s diaries and they will receive a reward sticker if they have completed their Maths homework for the week.
