Welcome back Willow Class! Happy New Year!

We are a happy class of independent learners. On our class page you will find lots of useful information about what we have been up to and what’s coming up!

Term: Spring 1

Themed Learning: Long, long ago!

Weeks 1 & 2: History
To develop knowledge and understanding of aspects of the past beyond living memory.
To understand cause and effect by looking at a significant individual’s actions and what happened as a result.
To understand, in simple terms, why individuals acted the way they did.
To know how to select and combine information from different sources to describe the event.

Week 3: Science
To identify how suitable materials are for different uses.
To compare how suitable different materials are for different uses.
To find out which materials can change shape when a force is used on them.

Weeks 4 & 5: RE
To retell the Jewish story of God’s creation of the Earth from Genesis 1.
To explore the ways of belonging and beliefs of Jewish people.
To ask questions about the different ways of speaking of G-d, recognizing that the idea of God is open to different views, and is a mysterious idea.

Week 6: Computing

My Happy Mind  link will take you to the ‘myhappymind’ parent app. This app allows you to complete activities with your child/children, which can help you in supporting their mental health and wellbeing. Feel free to use this resource as and when you feel it would be beneficial.
